The Governor Broome Project is Astro’s 100% owned Heavy Mineral Sands (HMS) Project located in the minerals sand rich coastal plains of Western Australia and the Company has to date developed an Indicated Resource of 52 Mt @ 4.6% HM and 6 Mt 4.0% JOORC Inferred Resource. Additionally, the Company acquired the remaining 80% of the Jack Track and now owns 100% of that deposit and the Company has announced a resource estimate of 61MT at 4.4% HM Inferred JORC Resource. Governor Broome and Jack Track are collectively referred to as the “Governor Broome Project.
With an overall JORC resource of some 118 Mt at a grade of 4.4%, the Governor Broome Project demonstrates the potential to generate economic cash cow with conventional mining techniques to produce a saleable heavy mineral concentrate.
The Company plans to upgrade the Jack Track are from Inferred to Indicated in Q3.
Astro carried out metallurgical testwork including a 2.6t bulk sample tested for processing and production in 2021.
A scoping study is planned for the whole Governor Broome Project, following , which will be key in the Company moving to a Pre-Feasibility Study.
